At Chiodi's Cucina Italiana we have developed a natural laundry detergent based upon detergent molecules called "saponins", found in different plants and roots and used successfully for over thousands of years by a multitude of cultures.

 

 

Our natural detergent has only two ingredients, our proprietary blend of natural saponins that provide the detergent and softening properties, and organic citric acid to act as a water softener.

We avoid the following:

 

• No added petrochemicals, a source of unsustainable, non-renewable, environmentally persistent toxins that can contribute to skin irritations, eczema, allergies, weakened immune systems and even cancer,
• No added enzymes, often used widely in commercial laundry products to break down proteins and fats they can be natural or synthetic and when residual enzymes are trapped in the fibers/folds of your washload they can continue to perform their job on your skin potentially causing allergic reactions or other health complications.
• No added optical whiteners, used to make clothing APPEAR brighter by absorbing and reflecting different wavelengths of light, persistent in your clothing and believed to facilitate allergic reactions when exposed to sunlight. Toxic to aquatic life.
• No artificial surfactants, typically sodium lauryl sulphate or other anionic or nonionic surfactants that are both toxic to the environment as well as your skin.
• No added synthetic perfumes or dyes
• No added phosphates
• No added preservatives
• No parabens
